Myth: Radon testing is costly and time-consuming.

Fact: Radon testing is relatively inexpensive and although the test is performed over several days, most of this time is simply waiting for the test to complete.

Myth: Any level of radon in the air is unsafe to humans.

Fact: The average indoor radon level reading is 1.3 pCi/L.  Even the air outdoors contains 0.4 pCi/L on average.  Radon levels become a health concern when they are above 4 pCi/L.

Myth: Radon mitigation is expensive.

Fact: Pricing can vary based on unique situations, but often radon mitigation systems cost less than $2,500 in the average home.

Myth: If your neighbors home has radon, your home probably does too.

Fact: Radon levels vary from home to home even if next door to each other.  The only way to know for sure if your home has a problem with radon is to test for it.

Myth: Homes that had radon problems are harder to sell.

Fact: If the radon issue has been successfully mediated, it can actually be a benefit.
